End of the Year

I’ve neglected my blog.
It happens.
As the year winds down I feel proud of my accomplishments. But just like any person with huge dreams: I’m not satisfied.
I just want to hurry up and be successful. But I guess this is the part where I pay my dues. And that’s cool.

Anything worth having requires hard work. Unless you’re family is wealthy, then you’ll never know what I’m talking about.

Ice Cream Pop

222 Imperial Gallery had “Ice Cream Pop” on display tonight for First Friday. This group show featured around 20 artists from Las Vegas.

Here are some of the pieces I really enjoyed.

“Druzy Desserts” KT Cewe

This gallery is very family friendly. So if you got some kids that you’d like to expose to some art they can relate to, this would be the place to go.

Barfing Rainbows

Tonight I stopped at Blackbird Studios for preview Thursday.
Not really expecting anything, I knew that whatever was up would not disappoint.
I was right! It was the opening reception to Brent Holmes’ new show “Barfing Rainbows.”

Here are a few of my favorite pieces from the exhibit.

I Remember When The Future Was A Promise Not A Threat

Holmes’ new show demonstrates growth and maturity. His artwork shows that he’s become a better man.

Tupac Cat

Why is this my favorite ever?!

Descendents – Hope

I got this song stuck in my head like you wouldn’t believe. I think it’s one of the sweetest most painful songs I’ve ever heard. Whoever this girl was…man she must have been something. I’m jealous. I wish someone would write such a classic song about me. But then again…I’m not in the business of breaking hearts.

Punk Rock Bowling

Punk Rock Bowling hit Vegas for the 13th time. Hurrah!

Saturday the 28th the main acts at the outdoor stage were Stiff Little Fingers and Dropkick Murphys. For someone who is not a die hard DM fan, the songs all started to sound the same after the third one. They started with “Gangs All Here” moved onto “State of Massachusetts” then finished with “Kiss Me I’m Drunk”. They let a bunch of chicks mob the stage during the song. One of them flashed her titties…all right. After that dudes were allowed to get on stage too for a cover of AC/DC’s “TNT.”

Stiff Little Fingers put on a dope show! The classics were not left out, “Nobody’s Hero,” “Barbed Wire Love,” “Wasted Life” (performed with lots of energy) “Suspect Device” and “Alternative Ulster.” The crowd sang their hearts out. I was happy….they were happy….we were all happy.

Tonight, I went to see the Descendents. Sure the Bouncing Souls and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes were playing too, but I’m a mom. Who’s tired too often and has a never ending to-do list.
The show was bad ass. Milo kept a conversation with the crowd about some firecracker burger that was about to explode out of his mouth. Funny and amusing. They played a lot of new songs. Some of the oldies were, “Coffee Mug” “Hope” “I’m Not a Loser.” Anyways, I left before the encore was over. I was glad I went. It’s not like the Descendents haven’t played together in 10years…wait it is.

What if?

When outlaws steal her baby, a mother takes the law into her own hands.

It’s the year 2045, government has collapsed and vicious sociopaths are now in charge. What these psychos didn’t expect was a mothers love for her child. Nothing but a shotgun can come between that!!! Fall 2012

After discovering a drug ring at the local daycare, Wild Woman Franco vows to take out the bastards in charge. She won’t let them say a word. Summer 2011.

The Last Mexican Hero

Zombies have eaten the entire population of Mexico and it’s supply of meth. Watch in anxiety as Fabro takes on a hoard of meth crazed zombies lusting for his Mexican blood. He is….The Last Mexican Hero. Spring 2012

Forgive Me Father For I Have Sinned

Chella was always a quiet girl, until narcos killed her father. Now she’s on a war path, leaving only blood and roses behind. Look out narcos, this is a kiss to remember.

Taken from his native Juarez Mx to live in Japan as a child, Fabro now returns with the knowledge he has gained. The narcos better watch out, the Mexican Ninja is after them. They’ll never hear him coming.

Cutie Pie Factory

Scientist Marion Black was tired of seeing ugly babies. Using the power of science, he was able to manufacture the worlds cutest babies. But what happens when there’s too much demand and not enough supply? Hilarity!!!

The other day we were playing around with the green screen and here are some of the photos we took. Using my imagination I came up with some funny movie ideas. Enjoy.

miss you macho man

Today the Macho Man Randy Savage passed away. I wish my name was as cool as that.

The Macho Man took being alive to new levels with his growl of a voice, wild outfits, and sweet body slamming skills. Few people are chosen to have such a strong personality. I’m glad Randy was one of them.

Who will take his place?
No one.

Moving on to the wrestling ring in the sky.

Thank you for all the entertainment.

Friday,Friday

This morning was grueling. And by this morning I mean, 12-5:30 am. And by grueling, I mean doing laundry, watching the baby, and working on a 500 word article on last nights event. Yeah, I’m a bad ass. So after finally falling asleep (see 6am), I woke back up at 10:30 to get ready for breakfast with a dear friend of mine. Here’s what went down today.

Jamms is super delish.

Pictured above is the Bamalama Omelet from Jamms. They are located on the corner of Charleston and Rainbow, right next to Albertson’s. 1029 S. Rainbow Blvd. Las Vegas, NV 89145….to be exact. This omelet was stuffed with bacon, avocado, and cheddar cheese. I got it served with home fries and a pot of cinnamon bread. I ate it all.

She loves fruit.

Fruit is pretty much the only thing I can get V to eat without a fight. And even then it can be difficult. Today she was totally focused on the gumball I promised her for after her meal.

I love this Bambino.

Marcos the Italian, Fabian, and Vivaldi all working on a camera crane.

Golden Bug

The afternoon was ripe for a walk through the hood.

Today was a good day. I’m glad to be alive. I’m blessed to have all these wonderful souls near me. Let’s see what tomorrow holds.

Gypsy Den Fun

Tonight was the fashion night out event for the Gypsy Den. This whimsical establishment has provided so many good memories for many Las Vegans. This event was organized to try and save it.
